(This is Tourism English Studio(TES) news, via Publicity Department of TES, Hans) On April 27, 2024, 17th Hainan Provincial Translation Competition (English-Chinese, Chinese-Japanese, Chinese-Russian, Chinese-Thai), organized by the Translators' Association of Hainan(TAH) and hosted by Hainan Tropical Ocean University came to a successful conclusion. This competition has drawn about 200 participants from over 10 universities across the province. Wang Heyi and Zheng Lixuan, students from Tourism English in Grade 2022, won first and second prizes respectively.
This competition aims to promote teaching through competition, nurture foreign language translation talents with an international perspective and exceptional skills, and contribute to the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port. It also provides a brilliant stage for students in Hainan to showcase their talents, enhancing their interest and passion for translation studies. Furthermore, the event serves as a valuable interactive platform for universities across Hainan, allowing students from different schools to learn from each other and progress together. The competition has won widespread praise and recognition from institutions and injects vitality into Hainan's translation education, contributing language talents to the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
