(This is TES news, via Publicity Department of TES, Tourism English Studio）On the evening of December 10, Hainan International Tourism Island Carnival 2021 kicked off in Haikou Century Park while a series of activities of Tourism English Studio were ongoing.
The series of activities included “Tourism English Cup” English Writing Contest, “Tourism English Cup” English Creativity Contest and Achievement Exhibition. A bilingual award party and achievement exhibition was held on December 10 after the two competitions .
The combination of Tourism English, skills, innovation and quality is the motto of our studio. At the studio exhibition, a drama, Li Qingzhao's Returning and Travelling around the Campus, was presented by Publicity Department. Meanwhile, they focused on interaction and some of the audience were interviewed in English. After Publicity Department show, we enjoyed ourselves in the English games and useful English sentences from Training Department. Next, the staff from Travel Department developed fantastic travel routes for us. As the saying goes: “The world is big, and we prefer to travel around it”. Then Food and Beverage Department offered a lot of delicious food such as mango and watermelon, inviting everyone to taste them. Another game, competition of eating watermelon, brought us laughter. "Come on, eat faster, don't spit watermelon seeds," we yelled and shouted with joy. Lots of thunderous applause was heard for each performance and we couldn’t help laughing and wowing during the exhibition. Unexpectedly, Ms. He Chun and Ms. Han Xiao, also performed a classical dance and a song for the students respectively. Nobody knew it except the host, Mr. Wang Xuan, before the performance.
Finally, we reached the exciting moment, the award ceremony. Mr. Wang Xuan won the first place in the English Writing Contest and Miss Hu Jingya won the first place in the English Creativity Contest. Those winners received the awards in recognition of their writing skills or creativity.
All of us were proud of what we displayed. In fact, it was a smashing success.
